Sterling Services

Sterling Healthcare knows Emergency Medicine. For over 30 years, we have partnered with hospitals to enhance patient quality care and ED service delivery while promoting a culture of compliance and improving overall customer satisfaction.

Our goal is to help manage your ED and implement the strategies that will optimize your ED’s efficiency and service delivery. Our collaborative model will enable us to work with your ED and hospital medical staff to enhance such metrics as capacity and throughput, quality care, patient satisfaction and ultimately, hospital profitability.

From day one, Sterling’s national, regional and local teams will work with you on the ground floor. Our approach to ED management is separated into three phases: Assessment, Enhancement and Continuous Quality Improvement. These phases allow Sterling and your team to work collaboratively to develop the appropriate strategies and processes that will fit your operational and demographic parameters. In building a true partnership with you and your team, Sterling offers the following services and competitive advantages.

Strong Medical Leadership:
At the center of Sterling’s ED management and partnership process is the Medical Director. Sterling Medical Director’s serve as on-site liaison’s with your hospital emergency physicians, ED staff, medical staff and administration. They are effective communicators who are responsible for becoming integrated into the hospital community by participating on committees that directly impact the emergency department. The Medical Director will be supported by a Sterling Healthcare operations team with a wealth of experience, yet small enough to mobilize for quick problem resolution and account support.

Recruitment & Credentialing:
Sterling Healthcare has an established Recruiting and Credentialing staff with proven success in providing qualified physicians and practitioners for ED practices. Access to national practitioner databases, residency programs and advertising networks as well as collaborating with your local team provides a pipeline of providers who serve as our best referral base for finding new candidates. Sterling’s recruiters will maintain consistent communication with you that includes updates and reports on recruiting and credentialing efforts.

Sterling provides extensive training opportunities for our contracted healthcare practitioners. Educational activities sponsored by Sterling consist of a wide variety of emergency medicine specific topics such as Customer Service, Understanding Patient Expectations, Documentation Guidelines, Risk Mitigation, Quality of Care Case Reviews, Leadership Training, EMTALA guidelines, HIPPA compliance, Airway, Stroke and Chest Pain management, and Lifetime Learning Self-Assessment Review.
